My Weekly Special Needs Awareness Radio Show on 99.9 Kiss FM Abuja

Discussing the topic "Explaining Disabilities to Typical Students in an Inclusive School to Promote Acceptance and Reduce Bullying" on air @ Kiss 99.9 FM with my beautiful mentor @ememopashi and my big sister from another mother @shade.samuel was one of the fun moments that I will not forget in a hurry (the pictures tell it all).
We started off by explaining what it means to be a bully and also described various types of bullying such as physical bullying, verbal bullying, emotional bullying, relational bullying, cyber bullying, etc., and their effects on individuals living with special needs.
We talked about the possibilities of individuals with special needs experiencing verbal and emotional bullying by parents and siblings unintentionally, even before they begin to experience it at school.
We also highlighted some of the ways to prevent bullying and promote acceptance of individuals living with disabilities at home, in our classrooms and the entire school.
Many thanks to our host and special guests who agreed to be on the show tonight despite their busy schedules.
Let's do this again next week, same time, same station. Together, we can make a difference!
